About Boots & Bow Ties

WISH ~ Women Inspiring Supporting and Helping is a 501c3 non-profit and has been active in the Frederick community for over 12 years. Our mission is to help support each other along with other organizations and nonprofits. This year we have selected Soles of Love as our beneficiary of our first inaugural fundraising event. “Boots and Bow Ties” will be held on Thursday, October 19 at Heritage Frederick from 5:30PM to 8PM. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served, along with a Jazz trio band and Keynote speaker, Shawn Harper. Tickets are now available! If you would like to be a sponsor, and / or donate, we appreciate your support and thank you for your generosity. We are working to help children in our area with winter boots and shoes who are in need. We hope to see you at our special evening!

Our Keynote Speaker

We are privileged to have former NFL player, motivational speaker, life coach, and CEO Shawn Harper as our keynote speaker for our first inaugural Boots and Bow Ties Fundraising event!

Shawn Harper

Shawn Harper knows what it feels like to be in the face of unfathomable circumstances, yet make it through to the winning side.

Imagine graduating last in your class with a 1.62 accumlative GPA, voted most likely to fail yet making your way to the NFL and becoming a leading business owner.

Shawn never settles for failure. He set his mind to play in the NFL while attending Indiana State University. Immediately drafted after graduation, Mr. Harper began his 7 year career as an offensive lineman with the LA Rams, Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts and NFL Europe.

Shortly after the NFL, Mr. Harper founded his thriving multi-million dollar security firm, American Services and Protection, by translating the skills and disciplines he learned from the NFL to Corporate America.

Mr. Harper, known as the Winologist, now travels as one of the Nation’s leading motivational speakers. breaking down elite level strategies and methodologies used by major professional athletes into simple concepts to WIN business and life. His paradigm shifting approach has helped transform thousands of individuals and corporations by reframing their mindset from success to winning, and activating their greatest potential to compete and dominate at the highest levels.

Author of the Best Seller, The Winning Edge, Mr. Harper also serves on the Board of King’s Ransom Foundation. He is actively involved at his Church and is a loving husband, father, and family man.

WISH is collecting donations to purchase children’s winter boots. We will be purchasing children’s boots in various sizes and styles. A typical pair of waterproof and lined winter boots can exceed $50 per pair!
