It’s Beginning
So many things begin to happen in September. By the middle of the month all students have begun their school classes. Office agendas begin to wind up again. And the autumn leaves begin to color and fall.
We begin our season of giving, as well. There are fund-raising events, like our Boots & Bow Ties to raise funds for children’s winter boots, a holiday for giving thanks with friends and family, and the annual giving to non-profits.
It’s a popular time for beginning a redecorating or small remodeling project. Perhaps you’re beginning a handmade holiday gift project.
We begin to hear ourselves say, “Where did the year go?” with shock and sometimes a few regrets.
Are you beginning something as the new season begins? Do it as gracefully as Mother Nature begins each season. Consider this quote from Richard Bramson,
“A to-do list is useful, but also write a to-be list. There’s a reason we’re called human beings and not human doings.”
